WHAT IS KINESIOLOGY?

Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology) is an effective holistic therapy that restores balance to your body, maintains your health and creates a sense of well-being. A kinesiologist tests muscles to find areas of imbalance. We do this by lightly pressing their hand to a muscle which will either hold this position or move.  We use this change in response to access information about what is happening and what is needed. By testing various muscles we can get feedback of what is happening within your system.  This may relate to stress, injury, nutrition, learning difficulties, pain, anxiety or some other cause. This is your body’s way of indicating what it needs to achieve your goal or what is best for you.

Who benefits?:

Kinesiology can help people of all ages with their problems and physical conditions, it can be used to help anyone wanting to reach their full potential, or to fine tune their body if they just feel a ‘little out of sorts’. In other words, you do not need to be suffering from anything to benefit from Kinesiology.

As a kinesiologist, my specialisms are:

  • relieving physical pain and tension
  • helping children if they are having difficulty at school, with learning, concentration, comprehension, memory or any other aspect of school work.
  • improving posture
  • easing emotional issues
  • helping achieve life goals
  • defusing stress and the causes of stress
  • enhancing brain function and co-ordination
  • raising sports performance
  • speeding up recovery from injuries

How kinesiology works for children?

I find in my practice that kinesiology can help children in many ways. For example, if they are having difficulty at school or at home, with learning, concentration, comprehension, or any other aspect of school work or home life, there are various techniques and ‘life tools’ that I use to help children cope in today’s stressful school/homework environment. I also use exercises to enhance children’s brain function and make learning easier.  Each session (balance) with a child involves working towards achieving a positive goal and it is during this balance that I am able to release the child’s stress and give them the awareness that things can change for the better. I further empower them with ‘tools’ to help when things get difficult.

Kinesiology can help:

  • Sporting injuries
  • Relieve/reduce pain
  • Headaches
  • Stress and worry
  • Learning difficulties

..... these are just some of the issues that kinesiology can help.
